What is Aerial Rope?

Aerial rope, also known as corde lisse, is a form of aerial performance involving acrobatics performed on a vertically hanging rope. This discipline requires strength, agility, and flexibility as the performer climbs, twists, and drops on the rope to execute various moves and poses.

Corde lisse routines can be quite dynamic and fluid, often incorporating spins, drops, and intricate wraps. Performers use their grip and body strength to maneuver gracefully on the rope, creating a captivating spectacle.

Tuesday:

Vertical  (Silks & Ropes)

(6:15 PM - 7:30 PM)

Taught by Lindsey Higgins, this class is a journey into creative movement, technique, and progression on silks and ropes. Every session begins with a warm-up designed to unlock your creativity, encouraging you to explore personal movement patterns and discover unique ways to connect with the apparatus. Lindsey’s teaching blends mindfulness and movement, helping you not only build strength but also develop a deeper connection to your body and the artistry of aerials.

From there, we dive into conditioning exercises that prepare you for more advanced skills and refine your technique. This class is all about transitions, shapes, and routines. Whether you're perfecting windmill techniques, straddle-to-straddles, cross-back straddles, or roll-ups, we’ll focus on finding the pathways of great technique, accurate form, and progressive training to help you achieve your aerial goals.

Each week, we work on flow and sequencing, creating a routine that builds your confidence and fluidity. The session usually finishes with a chance to perform the routine to music, adding your personal movement and creativity to make it uniquely yours. This is more than just a class—it’s a space to challenge yourself, find your artistic voice, and connect with others in a supportive and inspiring environment.
